We can help you achieve part of your ESG goals with a low touch, high impact project.
Your funding (from as little as £100) could give a low income family the chance to send their child to a team sport weekend activity, that they otherwise might not afford. The benefits of team sport are well known and without access to these opportunities, the gap can widen between children whose families can and can’t afford extra curricular activities.
How Does It Work?
You can choose the amount of funding you wish to provide and over what time period. For example £255 would allow one child to attend every weekend session at Mighty Netball for one year. Depending on the age of the child, you could choose to fund their entire journey which would be £255 per year up to 6 years a total of £1530.
Another option, could be to fund for example, 20 children for one year which would amount to £5100 in funding. There are many different options you can consider when choosing your funding budget.
How are the places allocated to children?
We are already providing places at one of our venues that have been funded by a donation and therefore have a proven successful model. The local council’s School Sports Manager writes to schools in the area to inform them of the project. The school can nominate pupils to receive the funded places.
The pupil must qualify for pupil premium funding which indicates they are from a low income family. With the family’s consent, the pupil is put forward by a teacher. Should we receive more nominations than places are available, a random selection takes place.
For some companies, this is compulsory and you’ll already know this well. For others, it is optional but becoming increasingly relevant for customers and employees to consider how a company contributes to society.
ESG is a collective term for a business’s impact on the environment and society as well as how robust and transparent its governance is in terms of company leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.
It measures how your business integrates environmental, social, and governance practices into operations, as well as your business model, its impact, and it’s sustainability. Adopting an ESG framework has benefits – from reducing risk and lowering costs to improving reputation and attracting new customers.
The three components that make up ESG are environmental, social and governance.
The social aspect focuses on how a business impacts wider society and workplace culture.
Organisations can positively contribute to fairness in society, investing in fair and equal opportunities and conditions for employees, people working in the supply chain, and local communities.
A key part of social impact is investing in local community projects, such as funding educational initiatives.
This project can be part of the social aspect of your ESG framework.
